Our Philosophy
A+ Accredited Learning Center encourages each child to grow as a unique and capable individual in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. Since the most important teacher is the parent, it is our purpose to work in a parent-teacher partnership to meet the children’s growth.
Children learn best through play, therefore our program is designed around child directed and initiated play, with teacher supportive play.
Our Program
Our program’s goal is to develop and enhance the social/emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of each child:
Social/Emotional
Each child develops skills of independence, conflict-resolution, cooperation and sharing, learning tasks, positive expressions of emotions, taking turns, following simple rules, building self-esteem, and learning respect for individual’s interests and differences.
Cognitive
Each child has hands-on experiences in our play areas and learning centers that help with thinking and problem-solving skills.
Physical
Each child learns through indoor and outdoor play, develop large and small motor skills, and experience active/quiet sensory experiences that help with self-help and life skills.
About Me
My name is Yolanda Gonzalez, and I am the director and owner of A+ Accredited Learning Center.
I have 29 years of experience working with children.
I have work as a mentor in various Child Care Centers throughout the San Antonio area.
I have an accreditation with the National Association for Family Child Care and have worked as an observer with them.
